While it may have seemed quiet to those who await updates from the PACB, 2016 was actually a very busy year, as we continue to move patient advocate certification forward.  This year-end review will bring you up to date on our progress:

We welcomed new and returning Board members:
•    Anne Llewellyn (a name familiar to many of you, returned after a one year hiatus)
•    Candace Facio
•    Linda Pelligra

We completed the first draft of the Eligibility Requirements which will be published for public comment before the end of January. The draft will be published on this website, and those who have provided their email addresses (see at right or below) will be notified. The public comment period will last for 30 days.

We chose and contracted with the testing company which will administer all certification testing:  The Professional Testing Corporation  http://www.ptcny.com/ We have also begun development of the first test.

We addressed two national groups during their annual conferences.  Anne Llewellyn was invited to address the Washington State Advocates. And Steven Okey addressed the Professional Patient Advocate Institute conference.

As we look forward to 2017, we will finalize the Eligibility Requirements, complete development of the first test, and set dates for the first test administration which we anticipate to take place before the end of 2017 or in early 2018.
